The Science

NAD is Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide. It is made by our bodies and is present in every living cell. It is a special molecule whose structure is synthesized by our bodies in part by combining derivatives of Vitamin B-3 and the amino acid tryptophan. Our cells and bodies cannot live without NAD. NAD is a “multi-tool” molecule with diverse and complex functions. It plays a primary role in oxidative metabolism to make cellular energy. It is involved in regulating sirtuin gene activity which helps control circadian rhythms, stress resistance, and aging. NAD levels may have an effect on the excitatory glutamate neurotransmitter system and/or modulate central sympathetic overactivity which could help explain part of the key healing effects NAD has in the brain for acute chemical detoxification, sustained reduction of cravings, and for reducing symptoms of stress and chronic anxiety. These multiple cellular functions appear to have a profound and direct role in conditions affecting physical and mental health, and cellular aging.

  • NAD is safe. It is not habit forming in any way.
  • Treatment with NAD does NOT cause an altered state of consciousness or intoxicating effect.

–The use of NAD is not FDA approved for the treatment of any condition.

–Intravenous (IV) administration is required in order for sufficient amounts of NAD to be present for acute detoxification and major brain restorative effect to occur off of alcohol, opiates, stimulants, and benzodiazepines.

The Benefits

When administered in an outpatient clinic setting by a continuous intravenous (IV) drip, NAD offers rapid and profound relief from acute physical and emotional symptoms of substance withdrawal.  Treatment with NAD offers superior results producing a lasting reduction in cravings, insomnia, brain fog, and unstable moods from addiction that often contribute to relapse.

Simply taking oral supplements of Vitamin B-3 or Niacin along with tryptophan does not produce the effect of IV infusion with the NAD BR+ protocol for the conditions treated.  The treatment effects are not a function replacing a dietary deficiency of Vitamin B-3.  Patients without dietary deficiency have a robust response to IV NAD for acute withdrawal from opiates, alcohol, stimulants, and benzodiazepines.

At the end of the treatment using the BR+ formula 90% of patients report no cravings. They describe the presence of increased clarity of mind, restful sleeping, better problem-solving ability, increased energy, improved focus and concentration, and improved mood.
